From the invention of the nickel metal hydride battery, Ovonic Materials Division has been the technology incubator for Energy Conversion Devices. Ongoing development continues to push NiMH battery technology to new limits while cutting-edge BioReformation, Fuel Cell, and Hydrogen Storage technologies are in various stages of commercialization. The division produces advanced battery materials for its manufacturing licensees, and operates an A2LA certified analytical laboratory for both in-house use and customer hire.
